Who we are

Henry Harington is FinanceWriter’s principal writer. His skills as a financial copywriter have grown from writing about equities, fixed income, derivatives, commodities, property and banking, stock broking, private and investment banking and asset management.

As a financial journalist he has edited some of the best-known financial publications focussed on investment management, the equity and bond markets. As editor of International Financing Review (IFR), Global Investment Management and Euromoney’s Global Investor and as Editorial Director of Fleet Street Publications he developed a considerable knowledge of the issues, instruments and markets in the financial services sector. As a correspondent for such publications as The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, the Financial Times and The Banker and as a reporter for BBC TV’s Money Programme he has written extensively about a wide range of international banking and capital markets issues.

This experience has been reinforced by working in stock broking and investment banking and asset management for Carnegie International, Granville Baird and Morgan Stanley.

He takes pride in the clarity of his ability to demystify concepts that might at first appear complex. His book The New Investors Toolbox, published by the Financial Times, is aimed making instruments and investing activities like stop losses, short selling, CFDs, options, futures, spread betting, exchange traded funds, covered warrants and hedge funds accessible to a non-professional readership.

He has worked as Economics Editor, Public Policy Centre, World Gold Council where he was responsible for the commissioning and publication of academic research that was distributed to academics, central bankers and finance ministries, the investment community and the press. From this experience he wrote How to Make Money From Gold published by Fleet Street Publications.
